Punjabi Mandatory for Class 10: Punjab Government's Strict Order Following CBSE Draft

 The Punjab government has mandated Punjabi as a compulsory subject for Class 10 students, requiring all schools in the state to teach it as a primary subject. Schools that fail to comply will face strict action under the Punjab Learning of Punjabi and Other Languages Act, 2008. According to the latest notification, students in Punjab will not be considered as having passed Class 10 unless they have studied Punjabi as a main subject. This directive applies to all schools affiliated with any board operating in the state. The government emphasized that this move aims to preserve and promote the regional language among students. Enforcement and Legislative Background The directive reinforces the Punjab and Other Languages Education (Amendment) Bill, 2021, which had previously made Punjabi a mandatory subject from Class 1 to Class 10 across the state. UP Board Exams 2025 Begin Under Strict Surveillance; Over 54 Lakh Students Appearing

 The Uttar Pradesh Board Exams 2025 for Class 10 and 12 commenced on Monday, with a total of 54,37,233 students appearing across the state. The exams, which will run for 13 days until March 12 , are being conducted under strict surveillance to ensure fairness, according to an official statement. Massive Student Participation This year, 27,32,216 students have registered for the Class 10 exams , while 27,05,017 students are appearing for the Class 12 exams . The exams are being held in two shifts —the first shift from 8:30 AM to 11:45 AM and the second shift from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM . On the first day: Class 10 students took Hindi and Elementary Hindi exams in the morning, followed by the Healthcare exam in the afternoon. Class 12 students appeared for Military Science in the morning and Hindi and General Hindi in the second session. This move aims to regulate the increasing number of pre-primary schools and prevent arbitrary fee structures. Mandatory Registration for Transparency Bhoyar clarified that while government permission is not required to establish a pre-primary school, it is crucial for local education officers to have complete information about them. The move has raised concerns about the integrity of the accreditation process, especially following allegations of bribery to secure higher grades. CBI Investigation into Alleged Corruption The controversy intensified after the CBI registered an FIR alleging that bribes were paid to boost the accreditation grade of the Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation , a deemed university in Andhra Pradesh.
